This is my favorite project.
During the development of this game we also construct the editor for animations and level design, Aurora GT (Game Tool), which later have become the official editor of Gameloft Studios.
Also, for this game I've done a trick to have this spectacular lights and shadows over the tileset: combining in the new editor two tilesets, one with the normal “bricks”, and another one, made only with 16 colors, from black to white, that was drawing the light over the normal “bricks” with a blending formula, like overlaying in Photoshop.
With the new editor new “inventions” over the animations was possible. In the editor all the animations was used for all the characters of the game, just that the modules, the “skin” was changed. We called that “Shifting Modules”, like shifting colors in a color table.
The game is based on combat and combo moves, that end in spectacular animations...
For me, the project was 100% FUN.
